A New Pair of Shoes

Several months ago, I began searching for a new pair of shoes.

Since I am not really a shoe lover, it is a big deal when I am actively expanding my shoe supply. My shoe shopping must have a purpose. I want practical and comfortable shoes. I am not interested in fancy shoes for every occasion. In fact, I seldom buy shoes more than once or twice a year, depending on how fast my walking shoes wear out.

I am happy to report that my latest shoe search is over. I found my interview shoes.

They are simple, black, wedge-heeled dress shoes. They are professional looking and will match with almost any interview attire. They are the perfect shoes.

As I slipped them on in the store, I felt a surge of confidence. I felt stronger, taller, wiser, and bolder. These shoes are more than an accessory; they are a milestone in my professional journey. I have stepped into a new world. I am ready to look at employment possibilities. I am heading toward a career, and it will be a good one. I am discovering that I have what it takes to succeed in my field.

There is a moment in every achiever’s life where his or her dreams start looking like reality, and my moment was in the shoe store at the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville.

I love to hear from my readers, so feel free to leave a comment about your reality moment and what it meant to you.
