This week, I asked my daughter, Bethany, to write a guest post for my blog, and she agreed. The only condition was that I could not change the contents before posting it to the blog. So, you are getting Bethany’s original content. I hope you enjoy, and I will see you next week.
I will keep this short, but I want to take a moment to let all of my mother’s readers know just what type of woman is on the other side of these posts. As I’m sure anyone who has been reading this blog for long has figured out, my mother is an amazing and inspirational woman. What you may not know is that she has some amazing qualities, the strongest one (normally) being her humility. Therefore, I will brag on her for a moment because she needs someone to highlight the good every once in a while.
My mom is one of those people who I look at and think “how in the world does she do it?” She homeschools my two middle school siblings, with a level and composed attitude (this task is in itself enough to make anyone tired and stressed beyond compare, for those who do not have middle school children). She runs the house and keeps up with a garden, dogs, chickens, and everyday chores. She keeps my dad from becoming too stressed about his life as a provider and student. She manages to find time to post weekly for you lovely people. She is always there to pray for or help those she cares about, sometimes strangers as well. She finds time to have an open ear whenever I or my older sister need to vent (and we vent A LOT because being an adult is rough.) Last, but not least, my mom takes in every negative action and word against her, prays about it until she forgives, then turns around and blesses those against her.
I am 20 years old, I’ve given her my share of hits along with everyone else, and she still finds energy to love me just the same as she did the day I was born. This is not me saying she is perfect, because she is a human. No human can live perfect, and sometimes, she annoys me to no end. Honestly though, no matter how mad I can get at her, I do not believe there is a stronger woman in my life.
I am very grateful that you, the readers, take the time out of your busy lives to remind my mother that her voice matters. If only you could see the look on her face when she sees that someone has read one of her posts. I hope, with all my heart, her words encourage you to keep going no matter how rough life gets and that you find some inspiration from every post you read on this blog. She is a blessing to every person whose life she has entered; all I want is for each one of us to realize this, allowing her to fulfill the purposes for which God has placed her in our lives.
I would have to agree!
You pin pointed her awesomeness! Great job Bethany! Your mom is fantastic.
Beautifully written Bethany and oh so very true. Your mom is a very special and amazing woman. Did you hear that Crystal because it’s true—you are.
