Happy 40th Birthday

In my last post, I announced the winner, David Roland, of our $15 gift card drawing. So, I thought I would share a picture of David enjoying his winnings.

As you can tell from this post’s title, I celebrated my 40th birthday last week. I spent the day with my family and a couple friends.

For lunch, my two older daughters took me to one of my favorite eateries, Panera Bread, here in Clarksville. We had a wonderful meal and got to spend some quality time together. Then, I traveled to Nashville for dinner and a painting class. It was a relaxing and fun filled day.

Of course, the celebration did not stop there; it turned into almost a week long celebration. Friday night, some very special visitors, the Roland family, came from St. Joseph, Missouri to celebrate my birthday. I was thrilled to see them and honored that they would make a 9 hour, one way, trip to visit for the weekend.

On Saturday, my family and friends had a birthday party for me. My sweet husband, despite a very sore foot, drove around town to purchase all of the supplies and spent a couple hours decorating, with the help of three dear friends and their children. It was a fantastic party with cake, ice cream, and music. I felt very loved and blessed.

Although last weekend was very eventful, this coming weekend promises to be even more so. Tomorrow morning, I will be boarding a plane for my second trip to New York City. I can’t believe it has already been 6 months since my first trip. Time has really gone by quickly. Although I sort of know what to expect at the Wounded Warrior Project’s Writers Conference, I am still nervous. This trip will be just as challenging as the first trip, maybe even more.

I look forward to posting some pictures and information from my trip. See you soon!
