As I was thinking about what to write for this week’s blog post, I glanced at my mug of tea and thought about the words written on it, “Let it Go.” This phrase is not just a song title from the Disney movie Frozen, it is a wonderful piece of advice that I need to take more often.
So, tonight I am choosing to “Let it Go!”
I am letting go of…
missed opportunities to encourage and love others.
my looming and unmet writing commitments.
my mental rehashing of some frustrating conversations I have had recently.
my “way too heavy for me to carry” heartaches.
the things I can’t change and the things I have yet to change.
how disappointed I am with my body image.
my endless chore list.
the pressure to have a spotless house for my upcoming house guest.
needing to please those I love, yet seldom pleasing them.
being the perfect wife, mom, mentor, teacher, friend, daughter, and sister.
not being where I want to be, or feel I should be, in my career.
needing to prove my best is really good enough.
the unrealistic expectations I put on myself and others.
every other burden I might not realize I am carrying.
Instead of holding on to this excess baggage, I am going to get some much needed, worry free, rest. I am going to let God’s peace renew my spirit, soul, and body. I am going to bask in his unfailing love and wake up refreshed in the morning. Tomorrow is a new day!
I really like your post this week. I am going to add to my most recent note around the house. I think Butterfly Effect and Let It Go make a good pairing. Thanks for always giving us great blog we can use in our lives.
