In my previous post, I mentioned an impromptu out-of-state road trip I made over the weekend. I thought you might like to hear a few highlights from my trip. I’m sorry it took so long to post, but I have been recovering from strained vocal chords and exhaustion, since my return on Monday.
A friend and I traveled to Alabama for a ministry conference and time with a mutual friend. We had a vague idea of what our weekend would look like, but what we received was even better than we had planned. We were able to attend not one conference, but two.
The first conference was in Birmingham. Not only did we meet many men and women who share our similar values and visions for ministry, but the speakers, Bishop Bill Hamon, Apostle Tom Hamon, and Apostle Jane Hamon, left us encouraged and inspired. I really enjoyed hearing their wisdom and insight into some problems we are facing in our geographical region.
The second conference was in Hamilton. Although it was an energetic meeting, full of loud music and excited youth, this conference was more relaxing for me, because it gave me a chance to reflect on what I had learned in the previous meetings. Then, after each session and on both evenings we were there, we spent some time with our precious friend and some of her friends/colleagues.
It was a fun-filled weekend of instructing, shouting, praising, and dancing.
Oh I wished I could have been there!!! 🙂
Cool … a spontaneous getaway with Jesus, just what the Doctor ordered. How refreshing!
